ILLEGAL DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER LANDS MAN IN JAIL

In the late evening hours of Saturday, January 30, 2010 Deputy C.W. Hott was patrolling the area
of US Rt. 50 in Augusta. Roads were icy and snow covered due to recent snowfall. Deputy Hott
witnessed a vehicle approach behind him, and pass his patrol car as well as a Department of
Highways plow truck in a no passing zone and on a sharp turn.
Deputy Hott initiated a traffic stop on Rt. 29 North after the subject continued driving for
approximately 3/4 mile when the officer activated his warning lights.
Bowman, who is from the Augusta area, was arrested and charged with: following too close,
passing in a no passing zone, driving while license suspended, and DUI.
He was remanded to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail to await arraignment.
